WIA Services(Worker's
Investment Act)
I assist
new school to apply for and get approved to become an Approved Provider on their
State’s “Eligible Training Provider List.”
The Eligible Training Provider List (ETPL) was established in compliance with
the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) of 1998. The purpose of the ETPL is to
provide customer-focused employment training for adults and dislocated workers.
Training providers who are eligible to receive Individual Training Accounts (ITAs)
through WIA Title I-B funds are listed on the ETPL.
All
providers and their programs must first be approved by a qualified government
agency. What is a "qualified" government agency? An agency authorized by law or
regulation to approve a training program. The following agencies could be listed
as qualified to approve providers and training programs:
Board
of Cosmetology
Board
of Nursing
Board
of Real Estate Appraisers

Nursing Board Approval
Due to
the lack of qualified RNs and LPN/LVNs in the medical profession at the present
time, one of the most popular programs offered by private career colleges
nationwide is the Licensed Vocational Nurse, also known as the Licensed
Practical Nurse.
I provide
a comprehensive and flexible array of fully customizable services to support
your school throughout the process of applying to your State's Nursing Board for
approval for your program. My
services include writing and/or assisting the client to write an
application to the Nursing Board that describes the institution’s mission,
management, coursework, admissions, academic policies, and quality measures
along with the plans for continued improvement and growth. Call
me at 818-666-1333 or
contact me and we can discuss getting your school approved.
Committee on Dental Auxiliaries
COMDA
performs on-site evaluations and extensive curriculum evaluations of Registered
Dental Assistant educational programs which are seeking approval from the Dental
Board, as well as those which have been granted approval in the past.
I author the applications for approval for Courses in Radiation Safety required
when an institution wants to offer courses as a Registered Dental Assistant or
to offer classes in X-Ray technology.
In addition, COMDA reviews coronal polishing and ultrasonic scaler courses for
approval by the Board, which currently licensed RDAs must complete prior to
performing such duties. Also, all dental personnel are required to take a
Board-approved radiation safety course prior to the exposure of x-rays on
patients. In addition, all RDA applicants must provide proof of completing both
an approved radiation safety course and a coronal polishing course in order to
become licensed, and all existing RDAs who have not already completed such
courses must do so by January 1, 2006.COMDA performs inspections of programs
that are seeking approval to offer radiation safety programs in California;
programs located outside of California are not eligible for approval. If you need assistance
with your COMDA applications feel free to give me a call at 818-666-1333 or
contact me and we can discuss getting your program approved.
